1992
Four siblings of Malatinec family founded Hriňová dairy. Construction began in July 1992 and the production started in April 1993.
1994
At the beginning company used technological equipments for milk intake, pasteurisation, bag filling machine, production tank for cheese loaf and cottage cheese, barrel churn, butter packing machine and refrigerators. Kolibka and cream were produced and packed manually.
1995
The purchase of milk increased gradually. Capacity of dairy was insufficient. Company was extended by new production hall, warehouse and office facilities. Technological equipment got new update, gas was introduced into the buildings. The number of employees has rapidly increased due to continuous operation.
1997
New cheese packing machine started to be used and the range of products has extended to portioned cheese. We started to export our products to foreign countries – Hungary and Czech Republic.
1998
The way of selling has changed. We added night distribution to ongoing daily distribution – ambulatory sale. Employees who worked as sales representatives began to distribute goods in the regions they were assigned to.
2000
New millenium began with formation of a new company with new legal form – Koliba a.s.
2001
HACCP system has been launched for every product to ensure quality and health of whole production process. There are daily tests carried out in our own laboratory was well as constant veterinary supervision. A high level of quality in the production of natural cheeses helps to sell our products. We have good relationships with our business partners, our products can be found in several trade networks.
2002
Our portfolio has expanded with grated cheese.
2004
Because of new EU requirements, the entire dairy has been refurbished and extended. Thanks to this large investment we created conditions to increase production capacity. All new processes begun to be fully automated, with minimum of physical workforce. State Veterinary Administration has assigned an Approval Number 4-6-21, which allows the export of products to the EU countries.
2006
We introduced new technology of whey processing – we started to produce Ricoletka. We are expanding to another foreign country and on November 9, 2006 was established subcompany SC Koliba SRL in Romania.
2007
Full-automatic cheese production of smoked and unsmoked cheese is launched in may 2007.. The quality management system STN ISO 9001: 2008 has been recertified, the ISO 22000: 2005 Food Safety Management System has been introduced
2009
The biggest event in Slovakia was Euro implementation. Our company has been actively preparing for this in the previous year. Therefore it was smooth and did not bring any fundamental problems. Full-automatic cheese packing machine was launched in production section. Ricoletka production has been modernized. New information system SAP was introduced.
2010
We have a new modern logistic centre, which meets the strictest requirements and rules for quality product storage. It consists of a production warehouse, a freezing chamber, a cooling chamber and a dry storeroom. Warehouse is used not only for storing our own product, but we offer it for lease to other companies as well.

We have obtained the ISO 14001: 2015 certificate, which confirms the environmental management system and serves to manage and guide the organization with regard to the quality of the environment. It includes waste management, air protection, soil protection, nature protection, water protection, energy and fuel conservation.
2020
In 2020, we also put into operation a new production line for butter, which is able to process bigger amount of cream compared to previous one. We have also launched an automatic pasteurization station, which ensures significantly higher volume and higher quality while ensuring lower operating costs and higher work safety.
2021
In 2021, we completed the design changes that had started in the previous year. The new package designs are based on the traditional landscape of our region Podpoľanie, which became the basis for the new design. A symbolic shamrock was also placed on the cover. The change began with butter and later passed through the entire product portfolio.
